We currently have an opening for an Energy Storage System (ESS) & Photovoltaic (PV) System Designer. The ESS & PV Designer is responsible for designing residential and commercial photovoltaic and energy storage systems. This role is essential in designing efficient, reliable, and cost-effective systems that meet the needs of the customer while complying with local and national codes, regulations, and Utility requirements.
Hybrid working role : 3 days in the Denver or Westminster office, and 2 days working from home each week.
Required Working Location : Denver Metro Area. Needs to be able to commute to either Westminster or Centennial office locations for in-office working days. The role will require visiting sites to perform surveys of the customer's house and electrical layout, in order to best design the system.
Responsibilities :
- Evaluate the site where systems will be installed, including factors such as available sunlight, shading, and the specific electrical needs of the building
- Assessing sites with existing PV systems and determining most ideal solution for incorporating battery backup
- Based on the site assessment, create a detailed plan for the system, including the type and number of modules, the inverter and battery specifications, as well as the overall system layout
- Ensure that project designs are completed on time, based on various deadlines such as rebates, incentives, and end of the year tax deadlines.
- Create Design proposals that outline the energy system's design, cost estimates, and expected energy savings
- Ensure the ESS and / or PV system meets all relevant regulations and standards, such as building codes and safety requirements
- Work closely with other stakeholders, such as project managers, engineers, installers, and electricians to ensure the energy system is installed and operational according to the project plan
- Stay informed about the latest developments in the solar industry technology, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure the design is optimized for efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness
