Avionics Program Manager
We are currently seeking a recognized master in Program Management who will lead large services programs for Commercial Aviation customers, responsible for meeting company and customer objectives. This position will support strategic planning efforts, implement solutions for program challenges, lead contract renewal negotiations, and manage the sales and cost of the program.
This position is fully onsite and can sit at any one of the following Collins Aerospace Service Center locations : Cedar Rapids, IA; Federal Way, WA; Wichita, KS; Atlanta, GA; Burnsville, MN; or Wilson, NC.
What You Will Do :
- Single point of contact for the contract both externally to the customer and internally with the broader Service & Support team (Service Center, Support, Finance, Management).
- Execute a robust customer engagement plan in coordination with the Account Manager (AM) to enhance and strengthen customer relationships.
- Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and performance requirements through an Integrated Program Team (IPT), including but not limited to :
- Tracking overall Customer On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance to the customer for the Avionics Service contract.
- Connecting with IPT members and their leadership to ensure recovery plans are realistic and communicated to the customer and executed to meet OTD requirements.
- Leading any performance penalty or contractual alignment discussions, internally as well as with the customer.
- Identifying and reacting to program problems and supporting solutions, such as allocation of resources and changing contractual specifications.
- Providing performance results and corresponding Root Cause Corrective Action monthly to customer executives and quarterly at customer Business Review Meetings (BRM).
- Supporting customer technical review discussions in coordination with the Customer Support Engineer (CSE) to agree on service bulletin incorporation, chargeable quote disputes, and other items through bi-weekly Technical Calls and quarterly Technical Review Meetings (TRM).
- Manages the P&L of the program to ensure profitability targets are met including :
- Reviewing monthly / quarterly cost data, reliability trends, effects of improvement activities, and customer fleet / flying projections to update future forecast model predictions in the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Long Range Plan (LRP), and EAC financial models.
- Ownership of the overall Estimate at Completion (EAC) financial performance for adherence to the approved business plan.
- Employing robust risk management techniques during monthly Risk & Opportunity Reviews, Quarterly Forecast Reviews, EACs, AOP, and LRP.
- Lead the negotiation of contract renewal and subsequent contractual changes with the support of the capture team.
- Lead contract renewal negotiation and subsequent contractual changes with support from Contracts, Proposals, Pricing, Business Development, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to travel approximately 25-50%.
- May be contacted after hours based on customer need.
Qualifications You Must Have :
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.Project management OR program management OR matrixed leadership experience.Customer-facing experience.Qualifications We Prefer :
Experience leveraging strong financial acumen and / or experience with financial modeling.Demonstrated track record of conflict / issue resolution on difficult problems.Must have demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, including the customer.Experience with Aftermarket and / or MRO Services.Experience in the aerospace / defense industry.The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
