Overview
Michigan Sugar Company is seeking a full-time Reliability-Centered Maintenance Planner to orchestrate planned work across our Sebewaing, Caro, and Croswell facilities. This role requires regular travel among the three sites and close collaboration with maintenance, engineering, procurement, and warehouse teams.
Base pay
$85,000.00 / yr - $110,000.00 / yr
Responsibilities
- Review incoming work requests in the CMMS, screen for scope, priority, and safety; assemble precise work packages with detailed instructions, labor and duration estimates, BOMs, drawings, permits, tools, and quality checks.
- Coordinate with procurement for parts, with the warehouse on stock levels and kitting, and with operations to schedule work at optimal times, including major and minor shutdowns.
- Refine preventive and predictive strategies using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) insights; monitor asset health; adjust PM frequencies based on performance history.
- Convene cross-functional huddles to align on priorities; facilitate RCAs to eliminate repeat failures; apply the PDCA cycle to improve planning efficiency and schedule adherence.
- Lead or participate in meetings to align on schedules, KPIs, and progress; contribute to site maintenance and reliability KPI development.
- Administer and report on key maintenance system metrics, including budget and schedule compliance; maintain master data (assets, hierarchies, capital additions, and updated maintenance strategies).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 3+ years of maintenance experience; OR2-year technical degree plus 5+ years in industrial operations (including 3+ years in maintenance); ORHigh School Diploma with 10+ years in industrial operations, including 5+ years in maintenance, with multi-craft certifications.Hands-on knowledge of large industrial equipment (bearings, pumps, gearboxes, valves, drives, actuators, switchgear, motors, instrumentation, and controls); ability to estimate labor / materials and visualize job execution.Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in a 24 / 7 processing environment; adept at diagnosing issues and defining solutions.Proficient oral and written communication.Key competencies
