What you get to do
- Is the fourth level in the engineering series. Incumbents lead complex engineering projects and initiatives. This role has no direct reports.
Responsibilities
SafetyAligns with and actively supports Amcor values by putting safety first in all situations.
Acts as a safety leader to others by ensuring that all project work is completed in accordance with safety policies.Evaluates and assesses current safety procedures for engineering and suggests improvements for the benefit of all employees.IntegrityDetermines customer needs by identifying problems and safety concerns. Develops and evaluates solutions to define project scope.
Coordinates and prepares / assembles the engineering package / project documentation for each assigned project, including designs, calculations, layouts, schematics, manuals, bid specs, etc.Establishes project team, facilitates and documents project team meetings.CollaborationInterfaces with people, departments, and / or companies to ensure equipment is safe, on schedule and to specification.
Provides purchasing services for project materials required, including vendor review, contacting vendors, coordinating with Purchasing, issuing purchase orders, some price negotiation, and expediting delivery.Assists with interviewing candidates for openings within the department as necessary.Communicates information in a timely manner to necessary people within and outside the organization.AccountabilityManages project costs, scheduling and communications for multiple complex engineering projects; varies in scope and responsibilities.
Completes project closeout and postmortem analysis for appropriate projects.Results and OutperformanceParticipates in continuous improvement / kaizen teams and leads as requested.
Keeps current industry practices knowledge for the department as they apply to Amcor products / equipment.Leads mid to large-scale project installations, checkout, start-up and training as necessary.Identifies opportunities for improvement and develops action plans; provides purchasing services for project materials as needed.TalentContributions are highly complex and may involve supervisory responsibilities. Demonstrates ownership and proposes improvements to existing engineering designs.

Role EmphasisFacilities : Evaluates and improves best practices in engineering design, layouts and installations; develops testing processes and validates facility / manufacturing infrastructure designs; performs engineering calculations; creates and reviews technical drawings and specifications.
Controls : Plans programming, configuration, integration, networking and communication services; tests machine instrumentation; supports IT resources for engineering functions; considers future architectures.Mechanical : Designs and validates mechanical systems; performs calculations; creates and reviews drawings and specifications.Electrical : Designs and validates electrical systems; performs calculations; creates and reviews drawings and specifications.Industrial : Conducts studies for cost control, inventory, and production systems; validates IE requirements with automation integrators; uses DES to model operations and improve cycle time, WIP, bottlenecks, throughput, capacity and resource utilization.Automation : Solves manufacturing issues with large-scale automation, tests and validates systems, and reviews related drawings, RFQs and proposals.IoT : Plans data collection, SPC, ML / AI; tests and validates IoT systems; develops and deploys IoT solutions for the business.What we want from youBachelor's degree in engineering; Electrical, Mechanical, CS&E, Controls / Automation or related field
