Description of Task to be Performed
The Network Engineer will perform network design, engineering and troubleshooting support for classified programs. Responsibilities include LANs / WANs / site-to-site, VPNs / point-to-point / point to multipoint and maintaining network availability for servers, storage and backup systems. Troubleshoot port security issues, VLAN issues and network outages. Control network management activities, data flows and firewall rules.
Additional responsibilities include :
- Build network topologies to deliver content from specific providers to users
- Design, implement or maintain networks for LAN and WAN systems
- Provide engineering designs and plans for installation, integration, testing, upgrade, analysis, and maintenance / expansion of the network environment
- Prepare technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and design documents in support network upgrades and new mission requirements
- Part of a team that may need work schedule flexibility in support team providing on-site coverage of 5 day x 12 hours / day operations
Required Qualifications
Must demonstrate strong teamwork, communication (both verbal and written), and presentation skills. Must demonstrate strong initiative to accept new technical challenges in complex system engineering assignments.
