Job Description

As a Security Officer - Education Front Desk in Los Angeles, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more.

As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability-giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Front Desk Security Officer at an educational location, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and secure environment for all students, staff, and visitors. You will monitor entry points, manage access control, and provide assistance with badge procedures, all while delivering outstanding customer service. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents and support a positive atmosphere. What You'll Do :

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide exceptional customer service to individuals entering and exiting the location by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Monitor access to the facility, checking identification and / or credentials as required by site guidelines.
  • Assist visitors, students, and staff with inquiries and direct them to appropriate resources within the location.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related incidents to the appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and / or observations as required by the site.
  • Support emergency response activities when appropriate, including following evacuation or lockdown procedures.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Possess or be willing to obtain a Guard Card or license; this is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
