Senior Accountant
I'm collaborating directly with the Chief Accounting Officer of a rapidly growing, privately held environmental services firm based near Schaumburg, IL. This national leader supports major clients including Procter & Gamble, Jiffy Lube, and Firestone. Driven by strong organic growth and strategic acquisitions, the company is expanding its team and seeking to add a Senior Accountant. In this role, you'll take ownership of key projects, drive process improvements, and implement change initiatives while promoting transparency, accountability, and collaboration across departments. You'll provide timely and accurate accounting information and analytical insights that support business decision-making. Job Description
Senior Accountant Responsibilities :
- Complete all assigned tasks to support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end general ledger close in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain accurate accounting records by recording, verifying, consolidating, and posting transactions.
- Review financial reports and provide detailed analyses as needed.
- Prepare assigned balance sheet account reconciliations on schedule.
- Ensure subsidiary accounts are accurate by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist with various financial reporting deliverables.
- Compile inventory values, analyze changes, and coordinate with field personnel responsible for physical inventory counts.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and maintain proper documentation.
- Work with external auditors and internal audit teams during annual audits and ongoing control testing.
- Analyze business trends and communicate financial insights to product managers and other business leaders.
- Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to streamline the close process while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Complete ad-hoc projects as assigned in a timely manner.
