The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist position exists to be responsible for delivering all facets of talent acquisition success throughout the organization. This will be achieved through the development of local and national recruiting plans, employing new, creative recruiting ideas and sources, as well as utilizing traditional sourcing strategies and resources when appropriate. This position will play a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities :
- Establishes talent acquisition requirements by studying organization plans and objectives and having a working knowledge of the ministry's KMIs
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of HR laws regarding recruitment and talent acquisition
- Develops and executes overall recruiting plans, working with hiring managers on specific recruiting and interviewing plans for open positions
- Develops applicant sources through a variety of means such as social networking sites, recruiting agencies, colleges and other local networking groups and opportunities. Able to build rapport on behalf of the organization and the hiring department to attract well qualified candidates
- Identifies sources of passive candidates, especially as they relate to hard-to-fill positions and develops a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need
- Reviews job descriptions prior to posting
- Effectively utilizes the ATS in posting positions and networking positions as well as tracking interactions with candidates.
- Efficiently and effectively fills open positions based on team metrics
- Conducts regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation
- Posts openings in the most effective venue for reaching the desired candidates
- Utilizes the Internet for talent acquisition by posting positions to appropriate Internet sources, assisting in improving the ministry website-Careers page to assist in recruiting, researching new ways of using the Internet for recruitment, and using social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates
- Networks through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, and employees
- Conducts prescreening, interviews, and assessments
- Locates and documents where to find ideal candidates
- Aids public relations in establishing a recognizable "employer of choice" reputation for the ministry, both internally and externally
- Communicates with managers and employees regularly to establish rapport, gauge morale, and source new candidate leads
- Attends local professional meetings and membership development meetings
- Coordinates college recruiting initiatives
- Attends career fairs for recruiting and company recognition and develops working relationships within colleges to aid in recruiting
- Gives presentations at colleges, attend student group meetings, and increase college awareness of the ministry before and after career fairs
- Reviews applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements
- Performs reference and background checks for potential employees
- Assists in preparing and sending offer packages and new employee orientation packages
