By mentoring a child, you defend their potential and increase their sense of belonging. You inspire and empower them to believe in themselves and achieve their biggest possible future.
As a mentor in our Community-Based Mentoring program, we ask that you meet with the child in Polk, Dallas or Warren county for 4 hours each month, with a minimum commitment of 1 year. The time can be flexible based on schedules of you and the child.
You and your match can participate in activities throughout the community together, such as going to the zoo, playing catch, getting a bite to eat, or attending one of our Match Activities—the possibilities are endless. The one thing that doesn't change is that you are building a friendship that will make a difference in your life in addition to the life of the child.
You can also mentor a child with a friend, spouse or family member by being a Big Duo or Family Match.
