Position Overview
The Maintenance & Engineering Coordinator will focus on execution of maintenance tasks on production equipment for our aseptic production facilities in Germantown, WI, especially when external contractor resources are to be utilized. This role will work closely with Maintenance & Engineering leadership and the Maintenance Planners to coordinate resources for the completion of tasks that require planning beyond normal day-to-day maintenance activity. This position is also responsible for working with Operations leadership when coordinating repairs to ensure maximum asset availability.
Job Responsibilities :
Serve as the primary point of contact for external vendors and contractors providing specialized maintenance and engineering services. This includes but is not limited to :
- Liaising with vendors to arrange for services, schedule work, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Coordinating vendor access to facilities and ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols.
- Monitoring vendor performance and quality of work, and addressing any issues that arise.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with internal staff, vendors, and contractors to ensure smooth operations.
- Facilitate communication and information sharing between the internal team and vendors.
- Assist in identifying and evaluating potential vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and engineering services.
- Support the onboarding process for new vendors, ensuring they are integrated into the company's systems and processes.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with Gehl Foods safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements while following the company's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Coordinate with vendors to address any safety concerns or issues that arise.
- Maintain accurate records of vendor activities, including contracts, work orders, and performance data.
- Generate reports on vendor performance, expenditures, and other relevant metrics.
- Ensure the accuracy of service records and maintain them in the company’s CMMS system (EAM)
- Comply with all federal, state, local, or other regulatory recordkeeping for assigned systems
- Assist with capital improvement projects execution under the guidance of Maintenance & Engineering leadership
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma or GEDAbility to work effectively with diverse populations and with minimal supervisionAbility to read electrical schematics and mechanical P&ID drawingsDemonstrated mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls aptitudeDemonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills, and ability to multi-taskDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formatsDemonstrated ability to coordinate resources for moderate to complex maintenance repairsProficient using a PC, ideally using Microsoft Office programsPreferred Qualifications :
Proficiency using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)5 years’ electromechanical experience working in a food or beverage industryDemonstrated capital project management or PMP certificationAutoCAD software familiarityKnowledge of FDA Rules and Regulations
