Structural Design Engineer [2-6 yrs exp] (Finance) – NEW YORK. KPFF Consulting Engineers is a multidisciplinary engineering design firm with over 60 years in the built environment, offering flexible and collaborative work culture with generous benefits.
We are seeking a skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our engineering team in NEW YORK. This position offers an excellent opportunity to further your expertise in structural engineering and take on greater responsibility in the design and execution of complex projects. You will work closely with senior engineers, contributing to the analysis, design, and documentation of a variety of structural systems.
Responsibilities
Perform structural analysis and design of building components, including framing systems, foundations, and connections, using industry-standard software and ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
Develop and verify complex structural calculations, prepare technical reports, and create design documentation to support project deliverables.
Work with senior engineers to refine and develop design solutions for various structural systems, ensuring they meet project requirements and client expectations.
Use AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software to develop, review, and modify structural drawings with high accuracy and attention to detail.
Perform site visits to collect data, assess existing conditions, and ensure alignment with project specifications and construction progress.
Assist in maintaining project schedules, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with permitting authorities as needed.
Work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to integrate structural designs with other disciplines and ensure a cohesive project outcome.
Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative and educational work environment.
Participate in quality control reviews to ensure structural designs meet company and industry standards, promoting safety and structural integrity.

Compensation and Benefits
The base salary for this role is competitive, with a range of $88,000 - $97,000 , determined by experience, education, and skills. KPFF also offers performance-based bonuses. Additional details about the full compensation package will be provided during the interview process.
