Construction Superintendent
Berks Construction Group is a General Contractor that focuses on Retail, Big Box Retail, Restaurants, Medical Offices, Fitness, Health and Wellness, Dental, Urgent Care Facilities, etc. We perform Fit Outs / Retrofits & Ground Up construction.
Your Responsibilities
Jointly responsible with the Project Manager for the overall success of the project. Responsible for meeting schedule, controlling costs, and managing manpower and equipment on assigned projects. Provides continuous hands-on field supervision of all construction operations, including subcontractors and other construction personnel, directing them in planning, scheduling, and execution of work on time, within budget, and with high standards of workmanship. Attains or exceeds profit goals and promotes workplace safety while meeting or exceeding owner's expectations. Promotes a positive company image. Acts as the on-site leader and is ultimately responsible for the project's operational success.
Qualifications
Experience and Employee Requirements :
- 10+ years' experience in Commercial Supervision of Ground Up and Fit Outs of projects for a General Contractor
- 10+ years reading and interpreting drawings / blueprints
- OSHA certifications
- Have a valid driver's license with the ability to travel
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction
- Ability to work additional hours to meet business goals
- Skills
- Ability to quickly read and understand blueprints / plans
- Very organized with a strong eye for detail
- Working knowledge of laptop use, Microsoft Word, internet, Procore, and Excel is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and verify subcontractor work is accurate
- Responsibilities
- Perform project supervision under the direction of a Project Manager
- Meet with Project Manager to review the project during turnover
- Attend pre-construction meetings, all progress meetings, and weekly safety / info meetings
- Lead the on-site team from construction start through project close
- Monitor and ensure on-site safety compliance, cleanliness, and orderliness
- Proactively identify and remedy design deficiencies, schedule concerns, and other issues
Maintaining the Schedule
Maintain or exceed the job schedule by updating and providing a 2-3 week look-ahead; coordinate with subs to discuss inspections, milestones, and manpowerReview progress and adjust work schedules; request additional manpower from subcontractors as neededMaintain knowledge of current plans, specs, and submittal data (including revisions)Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship meets specifications and scheduleMaintain daily red line drawings during the projectReview contract documents and provide guidance on constructabilityThe ideal candidate will consistently deliver projects on time and on budget, exceed client expectations, and maintain client relationships.
