Salary : $45 / hr

Scheduled : Rotating days, rotating days and night shifts every 2 months, 12-hr shifts 7-7

Site : Onsite position in Kansas City, MO.

Critical Facilities Engineer II :

The Critical Facilities Engineer II is a vital contributor to the on-site Data Center Operations team, supporting one or more data center facilities under the direction of the Critical Facilities Engineering Manager. This role requires hands-on experience with mission-critical infrastructure, including generators, UPS systems, HVAC, fire / life safety systems, BMS, and CMMS platforms.

The Engineer II is expected to demonstrate subject matter expertise in either electrical or mechanical systems, while maintaining working proficiency in the complementary discipline. Responsibilities include executing and enhancing daily operational procedures, supporting change management and incident response, and performing maintenance and inspections to ensure Salute’s data center environments operate at peak availability, safety, and compliance.

R esponsibilities :

• Maintain and operate all mission-critical systems, including UPS, HVAC, generators, fire / life safety, BMS, and CMMS platforms, in accordance with Salute’s engineering protocols.
• Interpret and apply site-specific system one-lines, equipment nomenclature, and layout drawings to support accurate diagnostics and maintenance.
• Execute and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), and Sequence of Operations (SOOs) to ensure operational readiness.
• Monitor and respond to BMS alarms, extract trend data, and escalate issues per Salute’s incident management framework.
• Create, edit, and close change management work orders and incident reports using the CMMS platform.
• Conduct routine inspections and rounds to identify anomalies and ensure compliance with Salute’s Maintenance and Operations Standards.
• Lead or support low-risk maintenance activities, including the development and execution of Method of Procedures (MOPs).
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues independently, escalating as needed.
• Supervise construction activities and vendor installations to ensure alignment with site protocols and safety standards.
• Support internal and external audits, including SSAE16, SOC2, ISO 27001, and other accreditation initiatives.
• Maintain awareness of customer-specific operational requirements and contribute to a culture of service excellence.
• Complete Salute’s Critical Awareness Training and adhere to Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety standards.

Site Location :  We operate a 24-hour facility where work hours (shifts) are assigned as needed to ensure job functions are performed satisfactorily, compliance is maintained, and the company operates efficiently. Certain positions, as specified in your offer letter, may require working irregular hours, such as nights, weekends, overtime, alternating shifts, and under various conditions, including outdoor work during extreme weather or in hazardous environments.
