Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with strong vascular, ortho, and neuro skills for a Level 1 trauma center, TX or compact license required.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in the Operating Room department of a Level 1 trauma center
  • Handles a broad range of cases including orthopedic, neuro, vascular, urology, general, robotic, and some eye procedures
  • Shift is 4x10 hour days, Monday to Friday, 10 : 30 to 21 : 00, with a rotating day off and required call
  • Unit has 14 OR rooms
  • No EMR documentation is required, but EPIC charting experience is preferred
  • No local candidates accepted from specified counties or within a 50-mile radius
  • Will participate in a variety of surgical procedures except for cardiac and transplant cases
  • Call coverage is required as part of the rotation
  • No travel pairs or groups will be considered
  • No more than 3 days of requested time off (RTO) will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation
  • Orientation includes onsite modules completed during the first week, totaling 4-6 hours for RNs
  • Holiday coverage may be required as part of the assignment

    • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active TX or compact State RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience required with robust expertise in vascular, ortho, neuro, urology, and general cases
  • Current BLS certification and NBSTSA certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Previous travel experience required
  • Pediatrics and adolescent experience preferred
  • Skills in trauma, endo / lap, neuro, ortho, podiatry, thoracic, vascular, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, endovascular aneurysm repair, femoral popliteal bypass graft, dilation & curettage, and aseptic technique are required
  • Former permanent staff must be gone at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
