Machine Operator Job Description :

Machine Operator Responsibilities :

Study specifications such as routing sheets, job orders, drawings, or sketches and performs the proper sequence of machining operations

Set up and operate with assistance drill presses, engine lathes, and other single purpose machines

Operate with assistance, CNC mills and lathes

Operates manual machines to turn, bore, thread, form, face, drill, step drill, ream countersink, and groove; adjust speeds, feeds, and depth of cut

Reports maintenance problems to the appropriate member of management

Ensure tools are calibrated in accordance with the company quality procedures

Contacts supervisor or designee to perform 1st article inspection on all set-ups and machining operations

Machine Operator Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

One-year technical school equivalent years of experience

2-3 years of previous experience in a manufacturing setting

Ability to read engineering drawings, and perform simple arithmetic calculations

Ability to produce quality parts, in a timely fashion, account for quantity

Work with planning and operations team to complete orders on schedule

Use precision measuring tools for inspecting and checking parts
