Overview
Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for an Engineering Supervisor (ES) position within the Renewables - Electrical Department with a focus on Dynamic Studies and Modeling. This role will lead a subset of the Dynamic Studies and Modeling team (specifically in NERC Studies, Interconnection Applications OR Power Plant Controller Modeling). The Engineering Supervisor will foster on-the-job leadership development and support projects. This position reports to the Technical Manager and interacts with other corporate units such as sales, marketing, account management and project management. The role requires a self-starting technical leader with expertise in personnel management, communication, and resource management.

Responsibilities
- Senior Technical Resource - 60%
- Manages and leads engineering activities during the proposal and design stages of projects that are assigned or supports and supervises employees in this role.
- Provides project oversight, including managing engineering scope according to technical contracts, developing change orders, and maintaining project schedules or supports and supervises employees in this role.
- Maintains high levels of quality and responsiveness to meet internal and external client requirements in alignment with company expectations.
- Oversees engineering activities of team members.
- Responsible for reviewing project deliverables and assumes responsible charge as needed.
- Completes or supports team in developing tools to improve technical efficiency, accuracy, and quality.
- Performs or manages team / company professional development opportunities.
- Management Responsibilities - 20%
- Maintain and grow positive team culture.
- Provides strategic direction, leadership, and technical services oversight for employees on achieving individual, team, department, and organizational performance goals. Actively support mentor and advocate for the professional and personal well-being of each team member.
- Coaches, trains, and develops engineering technical staff for growth and development opportunities.
- Participates and supports technical manager in weekly team meetings.
- Perform individual performance reviews, training, and professional development for team members. Completes bi-weekly 1 : 1 meetings with employees.
- Supports growth of team through hiring and new business opportunities.
- Supports technical manager in resource planning and budgeting activities.
- Business Development Responsibilities - 20%
- Participates and partners with Sales and engineering teams to promote revenue growth and expansion of services with existing and prospective clients.
- Supports proposal efforts by developing, providing resources, and reviewing proposals with the Proposal Development Team, Project Management group and other departments.
- Maintains positive client relationships with existing clients.
- Participates with cross functional team on strategic initiatives for the company and / or department.
What We Expect from You
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required from ABET accredited university or equivalent.6+ years of experience in the Engineering field preferred.PE registration is preferred.Experience with PSSE, PSLF, and PSCAD software packages, particularly in dynamic modeling, with a strong understanding of related tasks and requirements.Dynamic modeling study experience (ride through studies, model validation / benchmarking, dynamic model tuning).Familiarity with NERC Standards, Interconnection Application processes and requirements, and dynamic model requirements in different regions.Analytical, self-motivated, and able to work in high-pressure situations with a positive, enthusiastic attitude.Strong analytic and information management skills.Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, public and external agencies.High level of initiative and ability to manage multiple projects with clear expectations and timeliness.Excellent presentation and verbal / written communications skills.Proven initiative and ability to explore new opportunities while understanding the risk to the organization.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access) and other software depending on specialty.Aligns with Ulteig's core values.Must have permanent authorization to work in the US.Ulteig is a Drug Free Workplace.

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $130,400-$176,500. The salary displayed represents the middle of a range. Factors that may determine your actual salary include job-specific skills, education, training, location, years of experience, and comparison to others in the role.
