MISSION
- The Industrial & Machinery Systems Engineer is a hybrid role that combines the responsibilities of Industrial Engineering and Machinery Design Engineering. This role is accountable for the design, specification, procurement, and implementation of manufacturing equipment, while supporting new product launches and process improvements. This position aims to streamline capital project execution and enhance cross-functional alignment through a single point of ownership for both machinery and process development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement manufacturing equipment and process solutions that support new business development in accordance with Plastic Omnium’s INPRO and APQP protocols.Lead or support equipment specification creation, capital procurement activities, and supplier management for new and existing programs.Participate in INPRO phases as a technical representative for both machinery and industrial process development.Audit and support plant-led equipment builds to ensure alignment with global standards (WW Standards).Collaborate with cross-functional Core Teams to ensure seamless integration between product design and manufacturing systems.Drive compliance to internal best practices and support standardization across global sites.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to plant teams during equipment deployment and commissioning.Support knowledge management efforts by developing and documenting best practices, lessons learned, and standard tools.ACTIVITIES
Use engineering tools such as PFMEA, DFM / A, Process Flow Diagrams, GD&T, AutoCAD, and Plastic Omnium systems to support robust manufacturing solutions.Support validation of equipment design, installation, and commissioning to ensure performance, safety, and compliance with internal standards.Assist Product Engineering in evaluating designs for manufacturability and defining equipment / process interfaces.Conduct supplier development visits, participate in design reviews, and investigate new technologies that can improve process capability, reliability, or cost.Perform root cause analysis and support troubleshooting for equipment or process issues.Lead or assist with Continuous Improvement events such as Lean Workshops, Team Feasibility Reviews, or Six Sigma initiatives.Participate in R&D activities to develop new machinery concepts or process solutions for emerging product designs.Maintain and update global specifications, process documents, and standard tools as part of the WW standardization effort.Share knowledge and solutions across the corporation to reduce duplication of engineering efforts across facilities.ORGANIZATION

Personal Background
Bachelor of Science in Engineering required2-5 years of Manufacturing experienceExperience in plastics processing industry, preferred but not necessarySkills and Abilities
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., PFMEA, TPS, Six Sigma)Proficient in process and equipment design tools (e.g., PFMEA, Process Flow, GD&T, CAD)Background in high-volume manufacturing processes such as injection molding, blow molding, welding, or assemblyStrong understanding of equipment design, specification, and commissioningExperience working with suppliers on equipment builds and process developmentAbility to lead or support capital equipment projects from concept to installationSkilled in troubleshooting equipment and process issues in a plant environmentEffective communicator in cross-functional, multicultural teamsProficient with Microsoft Office and engineering documentation toolsWilling and able to travel up to 35% domestically and internationallyDate : Oct 15, 2025
