Overview
The Quality and Environmental Health and Safety Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing JCI Americas Quality Assurance and Environmental Health & Safety programs. From a quality perspective this includes developing and implementing quality standards, conducting quality audits and inspections, and implementing continuous improvement. From the environmental health and safety perspective, this includes ensuring environmental compliance, safety training and education, and implementing measures to mitigate risks and accidents. This position is located in Columbus, Ohio and reports directly to the Operations Director.
Responsibilities
Quality
- Manage ISO Quality Management System for Jacobi Carbons, Inc. (JCI)
- Establish and maintain quality assurance standard procedures, methods, and equipment to meet customer requirements
- Establish and analyze quality areas including quality goals, quality problems, defective materials, claims, and customer quality problems
- Manage and control non-conforming products
- Create certificates of analysis (COA) documents for material produced and / or shipped by JCI
- Develop and implement statistical tolerances to apply to QA data generated by JCI laboratory
- Lead creation, approval and changes for specifications
- Facilitate internal audits and coordinate with customers and third parties for their audits
- Manage all certifications related to quality or products for the facility
Environmental Health & Safety
Adhere to all global safety and local regulation reporting requirementsManage the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS policies, processes and programs at the Columbus, Ohio and Stockton, California locations to ensure compliance, injury prevention, and risk mitigationManage and implement compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Administration, and Jacobi Global Safety StandardsLead the response and reporting of EHS events that may occurHandles the corporate ENHESA program, ensuring compliance and corrective actions are followed through on in a timely mannerQualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience required5+ years of proven management experience in Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety roleProven ability to implement process improvement initiativesMust have experience managing ISO 9001 2015Demonstrated ability to analyze and problem solve independentlyProficient in MS Office and NetSuite experience is a plusExcellent oral & written communication skillsMust have exceptional organizational skills, multi-tasking skills, and the ability to work independentlyJacobi Carbons, Inc. is the world's largest manufacturer of coconut based activated carbon that delivers carbon activation and reactivation manufacturing for a wide range of industries and applications.
