Job Description

Controls Engineer or Process Automation Engineer

NO Sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an individual contributor with expertise in controls engineering.
  • Support multiple facilities (Ohio, Minnesota, Illinois) with a focus on :

Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).

  • Support web handling, coating, and slitting processes (hot melt, solvent, emulsion, UV curing).
  • Integrate control systems with equipment like motors, sensors, and actuators.
  • Identifying needs for external resources or service agreements with contractors.
  • Potentially managing contractors for system maintenance and upgrades.
  • Build internal expertise in controls and reliability engineering, addressing the company's lack of depth in this area.
  • Travel to various facilities to ensure teams have the necessary resources and support to improve operations and build bench strength.

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 510+ years of experience in controls engineering, with proficiency in PLC programming and HMI / SCADA development.
  • 5+ years experience with web handling machinery and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Six Sigma or PMP certification is a plus; multilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) advantageous.
