Position : Associate Counsel (Contract) – U.S. Business and Franchising Team

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel and support to the Company’s franchise function, helping to create and revise critical agreements in support of the relationship with franchisees.
  • Report to the Senior Counsel of the U.S. Business Counsel and Franchising Team.
  • Assist in the preparation and completion of documentation for franchising restaurant franchise transactions, including facilitating transactions between operators, sale of company-owned restaurants, and acquisitions of owner / operator restaurants.
  • Support lawyers who are responsible for the effective handling of legal matters for the Company’s USA and key members of the U.S. leadership team.
  • Work closely with members of the Legal Department to ensure alignment, collaboration, and consistency and to identify and implement best practices.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) required
  • 3-5 years of relevant legal experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Transactional and / or franchise law experience
  • Ability to interpret and apply franchise policies, draft and manage a variety of agreements with attention to detail, and provide pragmatic legal advice that advances business objectives
  • Strong technical expertise, including transactional experience, and knowledge of the US legal system and laws
  • Strong people skills with the ability to influence others and collaborate in a team environment
  • Effective communication with a wide range of individuals inside and outside the company
  • Results-oriented with focus on complying with laws and achieving business objectives

  • Vision Insurance : Vision insurance through VSP. Eligibility begins on the 1st day of the calendar month following 60 days of continuous full-time employment with Synectics.
  • 401(k) Plan : Investment Savings Retirement Plan with enrollment dates on January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1 for employees 21+.
  • Technical Certification Bonus : Eligible employees may receive up to $500 for approved professional certifications related to the current position. One certification bonus per calendar year. Bonus awarded 90 days after certification is verified.
