The Industrial Engineer plans the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve the efficiency of warehouse, manufacturing, and / or logistics operations. This role supports equipment, parts, and supply operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and environmental goals.
Responsibilities
- Analyze equipment capacity based on forecasted demand, product design changes, current equipment, and performance.
- Establish standards for process routings and create new routings per those standards.
- Analyze workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Establish work measurement programs and analyze work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
- Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties.
- Design capacity analyses based on available data and questions to answer.
- Maintain routings per Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) with minimal instruction.
- Analyze task durations and production stages to set performance standards.
- Revise and improve routing standards.
- Represent the team in cross-functional activities as a communicator for projects, processes, and analyses.
- Coach others on obtaining necessary data via SQL.
- Conduct data analysis for metric tracking and generation.
- Recommend workflow reorganizations, equipment relocations, and equipment purchases.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, increased quality, and workflow improvements.
- Coordinate project work internally and externally to ensure on-time completion.
- Lead large projects and processes independently with limited supervision.
- Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals.
- Serve as a technical leader of processes and a mentor / role model for less experienced Industrial Engineers.
- Establish continuous improvement goals and execute action plans.
- Perform other job duties as required by supervisor / manager.

Extensive knowledge of interconnected processes and dependencies across the plant.Expertise in multiple disciplines for process analysis and improvement.Proven ability to design SQL procedures.Comprehensive understanding of Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery (SQCD) metrics.Advanced knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, and 5S principles.Expert understanding of Routings and Bills of Materials (BoMs) and their importance to MRP systems.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SQL.Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong project management skills.Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teams.Demonstrated good judgment, work ethic, and integrity.Experience
8+ years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, warehouse design, or process improvement.Proven track record of leading projects, analyses, or studies such as Kaizen, capacity planning, and time studies.Education / Certification
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field required.Six Sigma certification is a plus.Additional professional certifications (e.g., Project Management, SQL, data-related) are a plus.People Management
