Labor & Delivery RN Job Details Location : Smyrna, TN 37167 (Greater Nashville area) Healthcare Setting : Women’s Services – Labor & Delivery Unit Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 27 / 2025 – End : 1 / 26 / 2026) Nursing Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour nights) Hours per Week : 36 Weekend Requirement : 4 weekend shifts per month Estimated Weekly Salary : $1470 - $1570 Unit Details : 9 L&D beds, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, 3-bed OBED, 8-bed level 2 NICU Staffing : Unit Secretary, Scrub Tech, dedicated CRNA & Midwife in-house 24 / 7, OBGYN on call Documentation : CPN and Meditech Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license (Tennessee or compact state) Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certifications Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience Strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care Ability to support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities Advanced skills such as Spinning Babies and STABLE certification preferred Must adhere to dress code : hot pink and black (preferably hot pink top, black bottom) L&D Nurse Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients and families Advocate for patient birth preferences, including vaginal birth support Circulate in the operating room and assist with procedures (IUPC, FSE, MgSO4 administration, postpartum hemorrhage management with JADA system, nitrous oxide) Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team : midwives, CRNAs, OBGYNs Float to mother / baby or other hospital departments as needed Maintain patient experience scores above 75% Promote couplet care and support breastfeeding, including donor milk availability Accurately document all care in CPN and Meditech systems Join our healthcare team in Smyrna, Tennessee and help personalize each birth experience while providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns.
