We offer customized, individualized rehabilitation tailored to the specific needs of those recovering from a stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury.\n\nKnoxville Rehabilitation Hospital strives to maximize the health, function, and quality of life of those we serve through comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation programs.\n\nWe are accredited by The Joint Commission and CARF-accredited for our Stroke Specialty program.\n\nJOB SUMMARY : \n\nProvides planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation. Develop nursing care plan in coordination with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff as necessary. Communicates changes in patient's clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor / Manager, and co-workers as appropriate. Participates in discharges planning process.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS : \n

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.\n
• Current state licensure as Registered Nurse.\n
• CPR / BCLS certification. ACLS preferred.\n
• CRRN Preferred\n
• Minimum six months of Medical / Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.\n
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : \n
• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.\n
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.\n
• Provides patient and family teaching throughout the rehabilitation stay and prior to discharge.\n
• Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient.\n
• Works cooperatively and actively participate with other members of the interdisciplinary team.\n
• Participates in Continuous Quality and Performance Improvement (CQPI).\n
• Maintains positive relationships with all customers.\n
• Promotes rehabilitation nursing philosophy and scope of practice.\n
• Actively participates in team conferences.\n
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.\n
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.\n
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.\n
• Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff and complies with appropriate and approved safety standards.\n
• Supports the leadership for the hospital in a professional manner and acts as a role model.\n
• Other duties as assigned.
