Your Role
As a Diesel Technician III , you’re one of the most trusted and capable techs in the shop. You’ll take full ownership of diagnostics and repairs across our luxury motorcoach fleet, including diesel engines, drivetrain, HVAC, electrical, suspension, and braking systems.
This role is more than technical. You’re the person others rely on when things get complicated or time gets tight. You’re not in a formal lead role, but your experience and judgment make you a natural mentor to Techs I and II. You set the bar for quality, safety, and performance.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair diesel engines, 12V / 24V electrical systems, HVAC, drivetrain, and suspension components
Use advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot voltage drops, emissions faults, and full coach performance issues
Resolve brake system failures including low air pressure, slack adjuster issues, and braking imbalances
Troubleshoot drivetrain vibration, torque loss, or abnormal noise with precision
Diagnose and repair generator systems and manage load distribution across coach power systems
Perform tire inspections and alignment evaluations to correct wear and handling issues
Support Tech I and II team members through guidance and hands-on problem solving
Communicate clearly with leadership and document all repair work with detailed notes and recommendations
Minimum Requirements
Typically requires 5+ years of diesel repair experience - but candidates with fewer years will be considered if they can demonstrate the ability to perform all responsibilities at this level
Proven experience working with Volvo diesel engines
Strong diagnostic skills across multiple systems including electrical, drivetrain, HVAC, and air brakes
Proficient with pneumatic diagrams, wiring schematics, and diagnostic software
Able to work independently and contribute to a high-performing team environment
Nice to Have
Experience working on luxury motorcoaches or Prevost platforms
Familiarity with HVAC zone controls, fire suppression systems, ABS sensors, and generator troubleshooting
Interest in mentoring junior techs or growing into a Diesel Tech IV role
