About the job
Mentra is building the operating system for smart glasses, and we’re doing things differently. The best future is open, user-empowering, and cross-compatible. Smart glasses literally control what we see and hear, so control must belong only to the person wearing them. That’s why we must succeed. And to succeed, we need to ship. We’re about to deliver thousands of our first-ever hardware devices — Mentra Live smart glasses — to customers around the world. It’s a huge milestone for us as a company and for the smart glasses ecosystem. We need someone who can help make it happen.
The Roll
We’re hiring an Operations Associate to keep Mentra’s day-to-day engine running as we scale hardware shipments, global logistics, and internal systems. You’ll work directly with our VP of Operations to make sure finance, logistics, and people ops stay tight as we go from hundreds of units to thousands — and beyond. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in organized chaos, takes pride in making things work, and wants to see inside the machine of a next-gen hardware startup.
What You’ll Do
Coordinate global shipments between San Francisco and Shenzhen — track every box, every unit
Maintain payment trackers, invoices, and contracts across Mercury, Ramp, and QuickBooks
Support accounting, reconciliations, and CDTFA filings
Help manage recruiting, onboarding, and HR via Gusto and Deel
Run point on office operations — supplies, mail, travel, events, offsites
Jump in on special projects across logistics, finance, and operations
What We’re Looking For
2–5 years of experience in operations, logistics, or admin (startups a plus)
Exceptionally organized, resourceful, and quick to learn new tools
Able to juggle a dozen priorities without dropping any
Tech-savvy and excited to be part of a hardware launch
Hands-on and hungry to grow fast — this isn’t a back-office role
Growth
Mentra is a full meritocracy. The right person could grow into Head of Customer Experience, Worldwide Logistics Manager, or Ops Lead as we scale globally. You’ll learn how to run a hardware company from the inside out.
