POSITION SUMMARY :
The Facility Manager will be responsible for maintenance, repairs, professional services, stock control, supply orders, routine custodial, grounds and equipment for the facility, including maintaining the turf of athletic fields, and specific maintenance requirements for each field and grass type. This position has a special emphasis on mechanical (HVAC), technology, computerized systems, kitchen equipment, and sporting equipment. The Facility Manager will also ensure a suitable working environment for the organization and provide appropriate reporting, performance measurements, budgeting, and leadership.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING :
Leadership
- Manage (hire, train, evaluate, hold accountable, schedule, etc.) Facility and Grounds staff
- Manage and coordinate any contractors
- Create manuals for housekeeping, operations and maintenance
- Create logs for maintenance of equipment and capital plans
- Monitor inventory and order supplies
- Maintain and update all logs and manuals
- Maintain OSHA and ADA compliance
- Complete special projects and daily assignments as directed by the General Manager
- Work within the confines of a budget
- Overall hiring, firing, training and support of all human resources (staff, interns, volunteers)
- Maintain, repair, upgrade, and order equipment when necessary
- Correspond with prospective groups
- Awareness of the guests, community, trends, and facility offerings
- Ability to understand, learn, and utilize various computer-based systems
- Understand and carry out facility policies and procedures
- Ability to open / close facility on a daily basis
- Ability to think quickly and rationally in times of emergency to prevent further problems
- Record all incidents through daily rounds during league play as Manager on Duty (MOD) to ensure a safe facility
Facility Maintenance
Oversee all aspects of grounds maintenance for all areas of the park, including but not limited to sport fields, general grounds, parking areasOversee the general care and maintenance of all facility equipment, including but not limited to grounds care equipment.Maintain overall appearance and cleanliness of the facilityInventory, organize, and stock up closets, toolboxes and maintenance areasCoordinate cleaning schedule around daily activitiesHave knowledge of building internals (sprinkler systems, HVAC systems, alarm systems, etc.)Manage utilities (lights, temperature controls, heaters, etc.)Maintain and repair playing surfacesSchedule and perform maintenance on facility equipmentCoordinate with Directors on facility repairs to avoid conflictsContract maintenance with outside vendors when necessaryHandle inspections (fire, sprinkler, elevator, etc.)Grounds Maintenance
Monitor overall appearance and cleanliness of the buildings and parkCoordinate maintenance and repair work with directors and contractors to avoid conflicts and maximize usage of fieldsMonitor all walkways and flower beds and keep clear of weeds, grass, trash, water, ice, etc.Develop annual maintenance plan / log, including but not limited to the repairing / cleaningOperate and maintain sports equipmentMaintain all trees, shrubbery and flower beds withing SFM's responsibilitiesOperate machinery to include but not limited to all equipmentClean and maintain parking lotKeep inventory of supplies and equipment as well as maintenance logsMake sure all paperwork is up to dateImplement snow and ice removal on natural and synthetic fields, and in general areas such as parking lots, bleachers, and walkwaysComplete special projects and daily assignments as directed by General ManagerMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Must have experience working with sports facilities and associated grounds and equipmentExperience caretaking for outdoor sport fields preferredKnowledge of commercial facilities inclusive of HVAC, electrical, suppression systems and kitchen equipment preferredGeneral knowledge of maintenance, janitorial & landscapingPrior responsibility in managing a daily P&L, management and budget oversightAssociates degree or related degree / certificate to the positionAt least five (5) years of related experienceExcellent interpersonal, problem solving and negotiating skillsMust be a team player with a positive can-do attitudeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent management and scheduling abilities for outside vendors & contractorsSolid computer skills including Word, Excel, OutlookMust be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidaysMust be able to obtain CPR / First Aid certifications within a specific time periodWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
