About the Role

Verkada Legal is hiring its very first Contracts Manager to support our lean, mean Commercial Legal team. You will be joining a rockstar legal team and will play a pivotal role in overseeing / managing the day to day flow of contracts such as customer NDAs, customer End User Agreements, Business Associate Agreements, Data Processing Agreements, and agreements with our vendors for use of their hardware, software, and / or Cloud / SaaS services. In this role, you will not only work closely with other functions within Legal but you will also be a key partner to Verkada's dynamic Sales team and other business and cross-functional teams. We are an "in the office" company and this role is based in San Mateo, CA.

What You'll Be Expected To Do

• Review and negotiate NDAs, B2B customer agreements (e.g. End User Agreements, Business Associate Agreements, Data Processing Agreements), and vendor agreements for hardware, software, and cloud / SaaS solutions
• Work closely with Sales, other business teams (e.g. Strategic Sourcing), and cross-functional teams (e.g. Security, Product, Finance) to drive deals to prompt completion
• Build, standardize, and improve processes, playbooks, and knowledge sharing within the Commercial Legal function
• Help manage and update customer and partner contract templates
• Identify opportunities to improve work across cross-functional teams and drive those projects to completion
• Collaborate well across client teams, cross-functional teams, and Legal organization
• Help onboard new outside counsel including reviewing / negotiating outside counsel engagement letters
• Support Sales team responses to legal related questions in prospective customer questionnaires

With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting annual base salary may be above or below this range. This estimate is also just one component of Verkada's total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and / or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Estimated Annual Pay Range $155,000 - $180,000 USD
