Responsibilities Work in a hospital Med / Surg Tele unit specializing in adult and geriatric oncology patients Patients present with a range of cancer diagnoses including endometrial, bladder, renal, ovarian, and cervical cancers Treatments provided include chemotherapy, clinical trials, brachytherapy, and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) Patient care ratios typically range from 1 : 4, with occasional adjustments to 1 : 5 Position involves 12-hour night shifts, with the possibility of day / night rotating shifts based on unit needs First week of orientation is weekdays on day shift, followed by on-unit orientation with a preceptor Floating is not specified Provide comprehensive nursing care including chemotherapy administration, neobladder care, IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line management Participate in clinical trials and data collection Implement infection prevention protocols and manage high-risk falls patients Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and utilize rapid response teams when indicated Orientation is structured across two weeks with support from a preceptor Must respond promptly with fingerprinting for Ohio as soon as contract is signed Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers All requested time off must be included and built into the contract Former employees are eligible if separated for at least 6 months; current employees of Ohio State hospitals cannot apply as travelers Holiday coverage may be required based on unit needs Preferred certification in Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required at the time of consideration Minimum of 2 years of Med / Surg Tele RN experience Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Experience administering chemotherapy and performing brachytherapy preferred Ability to interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias Oncology experience highly preferred Epic EMR experience preferred Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-620928.
