In this role, you will :
- Conduct and document observations of civil infrastructure construction projects such as roads, bridges, water / wastewater facilities, pump stations, and pipelines.
- Monitor, record, and inspect progress on construction projects.
- Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and soil compaction testing.
- Work under general supervision from the Senior Inspector, who reviews work during progress.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical school or Associate degree.Experience in construction inspection.Ability to interpret construction schedules.At least 3 years of employment in civil, highway, or related engineering fields, including at least one year in field inspection.Knowledge of construction materials, methods, procedures, and the ability to maintain records.NICET Level II Certification in Transportation / Highway Construction is preferred, unless you hold a current PE license registered in CT or a relevant BS degree.Local candidates are preferred.Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 3 years of experience.Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.Ability to work independently and in a team.Commitment to our employee-owned culture.Compliance with HDR's Drug and Alcohol Policy, including possible drug screening.Our Values and Benefits
