Overview
Technical Sales Engineer - Orange County / Los Angeles area. You will deliver product demonstrations, network with clients, speak at company events, attend trade shows and marketing events, conduct research, and deepen your knowledge of our solutions to support client IT / Security initiatives. We are looking for self-starters with strong networking, research skills, and opportunity recognition.
Location notes : Orange County / Los Angeles; most work is remote with occasional meetings with customers / partners. You may be called to our San Diego office at the manager's discretion.
Position Summary
We are searching for a detail-oriented technical sales engineer to join our team. Responsibilities include delivering product demonstrations, networking with clients, speaking at company events, attending trade shows and marketing events, conducting research, and increasing knowledge of our solutions. You should be able to make appropriate suggestions for improvement for client IT / Security initiatives, demonstrate active listening, patience, and confidence.
Main Duties
- Keep up to date with new solutions and industry trends.
- Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops to improve skills and knowledge, network with customers and partners.
- Conduct research and obtain feedback from clients.
- Write reports and liaise with the team regarding issues, foreseeable problems, and effective solutions.
- Simplify technical terms during product demonstrations.
- Maintain and expand strong professional relationships with existing clients, partners, and coworkers.
- Actively participate during customer meetings to understand customer needs and advise on the best solution.
- Create bill-of-materials for product purchases.
- Gather customer objectives and information needed for statement of work documents.
- Participate in and lead proof-of-concepts and evaluations.
- Create business cost analysis, including comparisons of solutions with recommendations.
- Prioritize ad hoc questions from account managers and customers.
- Coordinate strategic alignment with account managers, including pre-meeting game plans and post-meeting debriefs.
- Participate in handoffs from pre-sales to post-sales.
- Present recommendations and business value for solutions.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
Technical Sales and technical certifications from IT solution companies such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Microsoft, CrowdStrike, Rapid7.Qualifications & Key Skills
Experience selling IT / Security products and professional services (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Dell, CrowdStrike, Rapid7, Microsoft).Strong enterprise architecture / technology understanding.Strong customer service, analytical, and interpersonal skills.Excellent organizational, research, and multitasking abilities.Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills.Strong relationship builder with customers, partners, and team members.Detail oriented and organized; growth mindset.Ability to speak to groups of varying sizes; patient with a sense of urgency.Ability to identify customer opportunities that align with our solutions.Salary
