We are seeking a part-time Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team in the engineering industry. This role offers the flexibility of part-time hours, with the opportunity to have a significant impact on our business operations.

Responsibilities :

As a Consulting Accounting Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial health and making sure we are in compliance with financial regulations. Your duties will include :

1. Providing expert advice on financial matters, helping to drive profitability and growth.

2. Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports.

3. Managing financial transactions and ensuring they are accurately recorded in our accounting system, QuickBooks.

4. Performing 3-way matching to verify that purchase orders, invoices, and receiving reports match.

5. Processing timesheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor laws.

6. Coding transactions to the appropriate accounts in the general ledger.

7. Identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial records.

8. Collaborating with other departments to streamline financial operations.

9. Assisting with audits and tax preparations.

10. Conducting financial analysis and preparing reports to aid in decision making.

Qualifications :

To be successful in this role, you should have :

1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

2. Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

3. Experience with timesheet processing and 3-way matching.

4. In-depth knowledge of general ledger coding.

5. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

8. The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

10. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
