The Ashoka Sport for Changemaking Team leverages a collective 20+ years of experience using sport as a platform to create societal change. Our expertise draws across diverse experiences as practitioners, researchers, and innovators who understand how sport intersects across industries and impact areas. These experiences have allowed us to connect with and learn from social entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry experts to explore the opportunities and obstacles to foster a sports ecosystem where every person is a powerful contributor for the good of all.
Project : Sport for Changemaking Communications Campaign Development and Delivery
Responsibilities
Ashoka’s Sport for Changemaking team is looking for a self‑driven, collaborative, highly professional individual to deepen our communications and storytelling capabilities. As a volunteer, you will be responsible for the development of external‑facing communications campaigns and the creation of communications deliverables – tapping into existing research within our team and the broader Ashoka ecosystem. Ashoka believes in empowering its volunteers to take on their own initiatives while supporting ongoing projects.
Based on research and understanding of creating positive impact, create a communications campaign and materials that convey Ashoka’s position and engagement in the sport for social change field.
Using written and visual communications materials, advance the Ashoka Sport for Changemaking movement in the broader sport ecosystem.
Write and design social media content, website copy and a monthly newsletter.
Translate research findings and interviews into exciting and thought‑provoking communications materials.
Co‑develop thought‑leadership and other content pieces with the Ashoka Sport for Changemaking team and outline a dissemination strategy.
Work closely with Ashoka teams to ensure the knowledge and learnings are presented in a way that can attract new partnerships and collaborations on areas of strategic need.
Volunteer Logistics
Estimated hours required per week : 5 to 8 hours per week.
Estimated duration of the project : 6–12 months.
Position is virtual (remote).

English.

Comfortable with social impact trends and innovations.
Experience synthesizing and summarizing insights.
Ability to conduct desk‑based research.
Writing experience with short‑form articles or blogs.
Comfortable using LinkedIn as a media platform.
Proficiency in and access to design platforms (Canva, Figma, Adobe Illustrator, etc.) a plus.
Proficiency in English; ability to communicate in other languages (Spanish, French, and / or Portuguese) a plus.
Great attention to detail.
