Organization Overview

Elawa Farm Foundation’s mission is to steward a historic farm that enriches greater Lake County as a

center for experiential learning to broaden access to education, nutritious food, and our local food

system. We gather community through food and agriculture with a sustainable farm, weekly market,

café, learning kitchen, farm animal program, and educational programming for youth and adults.

Position Summary

The Facility Porter position is responsible for maintaining the grounds and facilities in a clean and well-

organized state, as well as preparing our campus for programming and events. This position is expected

to perform the following tasks as well as other tasks as unique situations arise regularly at Elawa Farm

Foundation.

Essential Functions

Maintain the public grounds and facility at Elawa Farm in a clean and neat state :

• Pick up litter in facility and on grounds daily.
• Remove garbage when bins are filled.
• Breakdown delivery boxes from various departments and bring to recycling or trash receptacles.
• Take out recycling on Thursday evenings and bring back to trash stall on Fridays.
• Check public restrooms daily and replenish soap, paper towel, and toilet paper dispensers with  supplies.
• Check all Elawa sinks (private and public) are stocked with soap and paper towels, and refill as  needed.
• Communicate re-stock order of facility supplies to Events.
• Monitor areas of the facility to make sure they are tidy and well-organized.
• Run any laundry, including table and linens, and properly store when completed.
• Setup and teardown temporary program / event signage and properly stored when not in use.
• Other duties, as needed.

Core Competencies and Professional Qualifications

Status : Part-time, seasonal, non-exempt

Compensation : Hourly rate is $18 / hour, schedule to vary depending on scheduled events.

Education : Highschool diploma or equivalent required.
