Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Surgical First Assistant Discipline : Allied Health Professional Start Date : 12 / 04 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Title : CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant Location : Canton, OH Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Night 3x12-Hour (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM) Job Summary : Seeking a skilled and experienced CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant for a 13-week assignment in Canton, Ohio. The position involves assisting in cardiovascular surgical procedures, providing operative support, and ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes in a high-acuity environment. Responsibilities : Assist surgeons in all phases of cardiovascular surgical procedures, including vein harvesting and graft preparation. Maintain a sterile field and ensure all surgical instruments and materials are properly handled. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to optimize surgical workflow. Monitor patient status during surgery and provide technical assistance throughout the procedure. Support OR operations by preparing the operating room and assisting in post-operative care as needed. Float to the Main OR if no CVOR cases are scheduled. Requirements : Minimum 18 months of recent CVOR experience (permanent prior to travel). Experience with vein harvesting required. Active NBSTSA Certification required. AHA BLS Certification required. Must hold an active Ohio state license (compact licenses accepted for starts after 01 / 01 / 23).
