The role requires critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and adherence to Texas Board of Nursing standards to ensure high-quality care and patient satisfaction. Reporting To : Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, Director of Nursing Requirements : Current Texas RN license (or compact license valid in Texas) BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications Minimum 2 years ED nursing experience Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Key Responsibilities : Deliver holistic, compassionate care addressing clinical and emotional needs Triage and prioritize patients based on acuity Collaborate with healthcare team; ensure delegated tasks are completed accurately Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory guidelines, and lab safety procedures Provide basic respiratory care, monitor patients, and document care accurately Facilitate transfers and discharges; participate in staff development and professional growth Maintain composure under stress and adapt to workplace changes Skills & Knowledge : Knowledge of federal and state nursing regulations and emergency care standards Strong time management, prioritization, and critical thinking skills Physical Requirements : Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and hand use; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
