Inter-Lakes Community Action invites you to bring your culinary skills and passion for nutrition to our team in Watertown, South Dakota, as a Nutrition Cook for our Nutrition Program. This role is crucial in providing nutritious, delicious meals to the children and elderly participants we proudly serve. Key Responsibilities :
- Collaboratively plan menus with the Administrative Site manager, ensuring meals are both appetizing and nutritionally rich
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals in accordance with set menus and nutritional standards, using approved recipes
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, toasters, knives, stoves, and microwaves
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards, including documenting food temperatures and monitoring portion sizes
- Record daily meal services and consumption to comply with State and Federal agency requirements
- Manage food supply ordering and inventory, ensuring proper storage and rotation
- Uphold high standards of kitchen cleanliness and sanitation
- Supervise and coordinate volunteers in food preparation, cleaning, and dishwashing
- Adhere to safety practices and maintain confidentiality of client information
Education and Experience :
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)At least one year of experience in quantity meal preparation and kitchen sanitation, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong record-keeping and time management skillsExperience working with pre-school age children or elderly adults is advantageousInter-Lakes Community Action is an Equal Opportunity Employer, dedicated to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment.
