Summary : Plan, staff, monitor, and safely deliver welding projects according to schedule and budget by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following :

• Supervise and coordinates activities of workers engaged in welding of products and structures.
• Manage all day-to-day welding related activities.
• Responsible for overall welding shop performance, on-time delivery, quality, weld count, and cost (cycle time and overtime).
• Responsible for initiating and implementing Manufacturing Process Capability and Continuous quality improvement.
• Review and oversee weld shop design for optimal efficiency.
• Drive for continuous culture improvement throughout entire welding process.
• Develop and maintain training / certification programs for welding team.
• Maintain shop, equipment, tools, for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items.
• Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine need for supplies and sequence of operations required.
• Requisitions supplies, such as weld rods, gas, flux, and fixtures.
• Confers with weld inspectors or inspects work to maintain specified standards and quality.
• Train workers in operation of equipment.
• Scheduling work activities to meet production demands while maintaining product quality
• Lead and / or support the implementation of improved manufacturing welding
• Routine trouble shooting and problem solving, including finding ways of improvement for long-term solution.
• Encourage continuous idea generation from team members for continuous process improvement in cost, time, and safety.
• Ensure 5S (workplace organization method in the area with good housekeeping manner) is being applied on a daily basis.
• Ensure all equipment is up to date and within the standards needed.
• Follow updated schedules to meet ship dates provided by management.
• Strong attention to detail, organization skill, and communication skill.
• Prioritize tasks in a self-directed and time-managed manner.
• Monitor quality in accordance with the company ISO Quality Plan
• Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, and ability to work on–site.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.

Broad working experience in supply chain functions of planning, purchasing, inventory management and Logistics, Hands-on knowledge, Demonstrated leadership skills & managerial experience, Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

COMPUTER SKILLS

Personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee will be working in a manufacturing area, which has moving mechanical equipment; hazards associated with welding, airborne mists and particles, chemicals and loud shop noises. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is subject to extreme weather conditions of temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit and / or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit for periods of more than one hour. The employee should also consider the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind, p recipitation, and humidity.
