LHH is seeking a Production Manager for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a machining manufacturing client located in Indianapolis, IN. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established yet still growing organization that produces incredibly precise machined components. In this role, you will manage a small production team and oversee all CNC machining and manufacturing activities within your facility. Compensation is commensurate with experience and ranges between $100,000–$115,000 per year plus bonus and includes incredibly affordable medical insurance options, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan.

• JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and manage all CNC machining and production personnel, ensuring machinists and CNC operators remain focused on tasks and properly prioritizes customer orders.
• Oversee daily production activities, with a strong emphasis on CNC machining operations (mills and lathes), and ensure all work meets stringent quality standards.
• Serve as a technical resource for machinists—answering questions, supporting setups, and troubleshooting technical issues on the floor.
• Conduct root cause analysis to resolve process-related stoppages, prevent production delays, and eliminate recurrence of non-conformance issues.
• Lead initiatives to reduce downtime, eliminate scrap / waste, and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor.
• Evaluate and implement strategies to improve organization, efficiency, and throughput in CNC machining operations.
• Plan, monitor, and evaluate employee performance; provide coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, and handle hiring / firing as needed.
• Collaborate with the management team to assess and determine staffing needs, especially as they relate to skilled machinists and CNC programmers.
• Manage change, inventory control, and ensure proper distribution of inventory for any discontinued, damaged, or obsolete items.
• Communicate daily movement of materials from production to distribution areas, maintaining clear updates with customers and suppliers.
• Remain in compliance with Quality Assurance and Safety standards at all times.
• Stay abreast of industry trends.
