Camellia Waldorf School is seeking a Middle School Math Teacher to work with our 6th-8th grade students. Ideal candidates will work from a strong foundation of Waldorf principles and mathematic ability, bringing dynamic and challenging lessons to our math program.
This position is part time, with eight hours of teaching per week plus paid prep time.
Job Responsibilities :
The Middle School Math Teacher responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Responsible for the planning and delivery of middle school math curriculum;
- Maintain discipline in the classroom and foster a safe, productive learning environment in accordance with school policies;
- Communicate with the main lesson teacher, and parents when there are concerns or issues, about students' progress;
- Complete mid-year and end-of-year reports for students in a timely manner;
- Complete required professional development activities, including attendance at August meetings and June meetings;
- May attend weekly faculty meetings, but not required. Qualifications and Skills :
- Experience teaching middle school math in a classroom setting, strong preference for experience teaching in a middle school;
- A degree in mathematics or a related field is preferred;
- Familiarity with Waldorf teaching philosophy, or interest and willingness to learn;
- Keen sense of awareness of your environment (multi-tasker, alert to surroundings);
- Friendly and approachable (with students, parents, and colleagues);
- Strict adherence to school policies and ability to interpret and enforce rules
