Job Title : Forklift Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to ensure machines and equipment run safely and efficiently. Your role will involve maintaining operational efficiency, assisting with troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain forklift equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure efficiencies, run speeds, and downtime are within specified limits.
• Assist with troubleshooting and adjusting problems during runs.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and hazard-free work area.
• Prep, stage, and maintain rolls for jobs.
• Read and understand job tickets and sheeting schedules.
• Contact a supervisor when quality standards cannot be met.
• Set up and run jobs effectively and efficiently.
• Assist in the printing / sheeting department as needed.
• Follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with operators through shift transitions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on units, change belts and blades, and troubleshoot problems.
• Recycle all paper and cardboard properly.

Work Environment

This position is based in a recycling plant that is not temperature controlled. The work schedule is from 7 am to 3 : 30 pm, Monday through Friday, with breaks from 10 am to 10 : 15 am and lunch from 12 pm to 12 : 40 pm. The team consists of approximately six other employees, and the dress code prohibits wearing shorts in the summer.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00 / hr.
