The Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical and control systems at the Keystone Generating Station. This role provides technical leadership and hands-on support across operations, maintenance, and technical services, working closely with vendors and a unionized workforce to troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance plant performance.

The Electrical Engineer will service two power plants in Shelocta and New Florence, Pennsylvania. The Conemaugh Generating Station is a 1,872 MW baseload coal-powered plant. The Keystone Generating Station is a 1.71-gigawatt (1,711 MW), coal power plant.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Serve as the Area Leader for station electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and implement modifications to control systems and electrical infrastructure.
• Mentor and train maintenance and operations staff on electrical systems and safety protocols.
• Maintain and update station electrical control drawings and documentation.
• Interface with substation operators and external contractors to resolve equipment and operational issues.
• Lead or support the design, implementation, testing, and documentation of electrical and control projects.
• Ensure availability of critical spare parts and support procurement of new equipment.
• Collaborate with environmental staff to ensure compliance with monitoring and regulatory requirements.
• Support the development of technical instructions, operating procedures, and system descriptions.
• Maintain compliance with NERC CIP, NRC, and cybersecurity standards.
• Serve as Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) for nuclear density gauges and coal analyzers (training provided if needed).
• Participate in outage support, diagnostics, and emergency response as needed.

Requirements

Education : Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required. PE license preferred.
