American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg unit in Illinois, specializing in stroke and post-op care with day shift requirements.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 25-bed Med / Surg unit with both private and semi-private rooms
  • Patient population includes stroke, post-op, hospice, and patients requiring wound care, heparin drips, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and CIWA management
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios are 5 : 1 on days and 5-6 : 1 on nights
  • Shift is day shift with three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Occasional assignment of total care patients
  • Main responsibilities include providing comprehensive care to a diverse Med / Surg patient population
  • Care includes managing heparin drips, wound care, post-operative care procedures, and comfort or hospice care
  • Holiday and every other weekend coverage is required
  • Team-based work within a supportive Med / Surg unit

  • Active Illinois RN license required
  • Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • Ability to work three 12-hour day shifts per week
  • Experience caring for adult Med / Surg patients, including stroke and post-op cases
