About The Position
Program Managers (Maintenance Supervisor II) are an essential part of the Maintenance Operations' divisions. These positions provide equitable leadership while planning, organizing, and managing the division's dynamic workload and supporting the Bureau's strategic goals.
About The Division
Street Systems Division has ~100 employees and provides essential maintenance and repair services for the City's 4,800 miles of roadways. The division is responsible for a variety of roadway programs. It can range from a large-scale paving project on a 5-year paving list with a 30-person crew, to filling potholes reported that same week and done by a 2-person team. We also support other City bureaus by paving back their water / sewer / storm trenches. In addition, the division is integral to realizing small capital safety projects and supporting the ADA curb ramp program.

- Plan, organize, manage, and optimize the work of staff engaged in the development, implementation, and administration of maintenance and repair programs.
- Develop divisional performance measures, using data to monitor outcomes and report on productivity goals; Apply continuous improvement principles to grow the Division and ensure the quality, effectiveness, durability, and proper timing of maintenance and repairs.
- Establish standards and best practices, and use them in monitoring program performance against program goals and objectives to ensure consistent quality and progressive results.
- Develop annual work plans, determine, and prioritize work, assign appropriate resources, and manage the budget of this and other related programs as deemed necessary by the Division Manager.
- Be creative, innovative, and collaborate with team members and partners to achieve the best outcomes for the city.
- Oversee procurement of equipment, parts, and supplies to support operational objectives.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in a dynamic, team-based environment.
- Sustain a culture of safety, organizational excellence, stewardship, and professionalism.
- Apply continuous improvement principles in standard daily work and long-range planning.

Application Requirements
Experience applying the principles of Public Works Maintenance and Repairs.Experience leading diverse teams by fostering collaboration, safety, professionalism, accountability and staff development.Experience in developing and monitoring performance metrics and indicators with a focus on customer service, quality assurance, and continuous process improvement (Such as Key Performance Indicators).Experience with asset management & project management using best practices in asset and project delivery, such as managed work plans, timelines and budgets.Experience with effective communications, both verbal and written, able to tailor messaging to varied audiences, document successful completion of assignments.Applicant Must Also Possess
A valid state driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Optional Qualifications
Degree in Public Administration.Fluent in Spanish / English (Bilingual).5 years of program / project management experience.3 years of experience directing and planning work plans for staff.Recruitment Process
