Oversee Earned Value Management (EVM), reporting on cost variances and corrective actions. Ensure compliance with material control procedures. \n Training and Development : \n Provide feedback and lessons learned to improve future planning and execution stages. Maintain adequate staffing levels. \n Team Collaboration and Communication : \n Maintain a professional working environment within the trade. Ensure the labor contract is implemented fairly and consistently in all areas of the shipyard. \n Continuous Improvement : \n Execution lead for W12 Operations Improvement Plan. Work with supporting division POC's in an effort to execute trade value stream projects and meet company waste goals. Identify problems which drive cost and schedule impairments and lead process improvement initiatives to achieve maximum performance. Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, construction management, engineering or equivalent experience in related field required. Advanced degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of supervisory / management experience in the welding trade required. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflict and multiple priorities. Experience with Earned Value Management System preferred. Experience in labor contract administration preferred. Demonstrated management, project coordination and leadership skills required. Strong written, oral communications and organizational skills required. Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office products required. Ability and willingness to work in, and promote a true team environment.

Provide strategic departmental based technical and resource management for welding and testing activities across all areas of the shipyard. This position is the primary point of contact for all Welding Trade construction and testing activities across the shipyard; reporting to the Director of Pre-Outfit.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure trade practices / procedures are safe, and employees are trained to comply with OSHA and BIW safety policies and test procedures.

Lead the execution of all Welding construction and test activities to support ship construction schedules and test milestone schedules.
\n

\n
Monitor quality and quantity of work being performed.
\n
\n
\n
\n \n
\n
Provide technical guidance, deck plate training, and oversight to welding assistant superintendents, FLS's, and represented employees to improve development.
\n
\n
\n \n
\n
Collaborate with trade and area management in an effort to assign resources and resolve department deck plate issues.
\n
\n
\n \n
\n
Identify and report systemic quality issues that can be evaluated and correction implementation by departmental process improvement initiatives.
\n
\n
\n
\n \n
