Job Description

Planet Products is currently looking to hire skilled, experienced MACHINISTS for our Mazak, Haas & Fanuc CNC equipment in the Turning, VTL, horizontal & vertical milling and lathe departments. A qualified candidate will have at least 3 years of machinist experience and be able to work in a high mix, low volume job-shop environment. 2nd Shift Position - Plant is Climate Controlled

\n

Pay based on experience with 15% 2nd Shift Differential

\n

Required Skills : \n \n

  • Produce precision machined parts by loading supplied programs, performing your own fixture, vise and tool set ups while operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.

\n

  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).

    • \n

  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.

    • \n

  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

    • \n

  • Maintains quality procedures.

    • \n

  • Keeps accurate records.

    • \n \n

    Desired Skills : \n \n

  • 3 years of experience as a skilled machinist.

    • \n

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

    • \n

  • Independent and yet a Team player

    • \n \n

    CNC Machinist Job Duties :

    \n \n

  • Program mills by uploading programs, zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.

    • \n

  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

    • \n

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

    • \n

  • Familiarity with MasterCAM or other CAM software a plus.

    • \n

  • Familiarity with one or more of the following Mazak, Doosan, HAAS and Fanuc CNC controls.

    • \n \n
