Acts as an intermediary between the business community and the technical community working with IT project teams and business clients to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design (using appropriate tools and models) from which applications and solutions are developed. Active thought partner and application visionary who shapes the technology demand among the business community. Ensure IT deliverables meet the functional and non-functional needs of Business clients.
Specific Duties :
- Works with business partners to elicit high-level requirements and capture business needs
- Clearly articulates and documents business requirements
- Assesses the risks of various solutions and prioritizes competing business demands
- Manages ongoing relationship with business partners to drive satisfaction with IT
- Develops, maintains, and shares expert knowledge of assigned business processes, workflows, systems, and technologies
- Coordinates project delivery by participating in design reviews and walk-throughs to communicate systems designs and validate proposed solutions
- Obtains key inputs from enterprise architecture teams and identifies solution interdependencies
- Proactively resolves customer satisfaction issues
- Partner with QA team to development test plans and lead testing cycles
- Coordinate and lead application development for multiple small to medium sized projects
- Provide Tier 2 support to the Service Desk and Business clients, as needed
Qualifications, Experience Required :
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field preferredEight years of progressive Business Analyst experienceExperience with Workday (preferred) or other SaaS based Finance and / or Human Resource Information System (HRIS) solutionsStrong verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated analytical skills Familiarity with general business functionsWorking knowledge of the Finance, Human Resources, and Legal business functionsProblem solving and strong communication skillsExperience in SDLC with emphasis on specifying, building, and testing mission critical business applicationsStrong facilitation skills. Must be able to elicit requirements from various personalities across organizational and geographical boundariesProven experience at driving consensus across multiple stakeholdersStrong attention to detail, analytical skills, and experience in applying analysis techniques to understanding business processes, workflows, and systems and in applying technology to meet business needsInsurance industry experience a plus, preferably Medical Professional Liability or Property & Casualty InsuranceMust possess a positive customer service demeanor, work well in a team environment, and possess a desire to be proactive and grow professionallyAbility to work on multiple projects concurrently following established procedures, with minimal direction and provide real time, critical supportEmployees Supervised : None
