Field Meter Technician I

The Field Meter Technician I position will provide support to the Metro Atlanta area various other statewide locations outside Metro Atlanta customer service, metering, distribution, and engineer departments. The position will require installation, removal, connecting / disconnecting service due to nonpayment of service for all AMI residential and small commercial class meters. The FMT I will perform testing, maintenance, and repairs for residential and small commercial self-contained meter sockets. In addition, the position will ensure that all metering equipment is in compliance with GPC's Blue Book standards for AMI meter installations.

Job Requirements

This is a position covered by a collective bargaining agreement between GPC and IBEW Local 84. The current starting pay for ALL HIRES is $4378 per month which equates to approximately $25.25 per hour. Union membership is optional. FMT I candidates who receive job offers will be hired at its starting rate, regardless of experience / skills. This rate is non-negotiable.
