Job Summary :
The EHR / IT assistant is responsible for implementation, configuration, and training of practice operations to support the successful adoption of an electronic medical records software. Will interact directly with the physicians and other clinical staff to configure, test, train, implement and support the use of the EHR software. Also will provide technical assistance and answers to users questions, assisting users by troubleshooting problems with other IT issues. Will mostly be travelling to different locations as needed. We reimburse mileage.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Participate as a key member of the core IT team and supporting an EHR system by becoming a subject matter expert in the functionality of the electronic medical records
- Serve as a point of contact and application subject matter expert for Analyze and document the requirements of a physicians office and clinical workflow as they pertain to the implementation of the EHR software
- Develops template customizations recommendations and System / Practice template configuration.
- Prepare recommendations and / or alternatives that address existing and potential areas of improvements in office operations
- Create, utilize and implement customized training curriculum to train and instruct the physicians office staff on the use the features of the software effectively
- Document implementation decisions and configuration approach.
- Directly and remotely support the clinical staff in the use of the software.
- Resolve issues directly and remotely utilizing training and provided documentation.
- Follow established escalation and notification procedures.
- Assist IT team on other related IT tasks as needed.
- Good team player and ability to work with different departments and team members.
- Identifies, investigates, and resolves users problems with computer software and hardware.
- Fields support calls, chat, email, and / or other communication from users with inquiries regarding software programming, connectivity, printing, and similar concerns.
- Consults with users to determine steps and procedures taken to identify and resolve the problem.
- Applies knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems.
- Guides users through diagnostic and troubleshooting processes, which may include use of diagnostic tools and software and / or following verbal instructions.
- Collaborates with other staff to research and resolve problems.
- Arranges service by software or hardware vendors to repair or replace defective products.
- Maintains knowledge of technology innovations and trends.
- Travels to other sites as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Provide regular status updates to VP of IT for all assigned tasks.
Required Skills / Abilities :
Experience supporting and implementing EHR software is preferredLives in Los Angeles area with reasonable commute to different clinic locations in Los Angeles and Inland Empire and / or future locations as needed.Ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical employees and customers.Experience with issue resolution and / or issue tracking softwareExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Professional and pleasant telephone manner.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Requires strong computer skills and familiarity with healthcare software.Must be strongly detail-oriented and organized.Must be very reliable and trustworthy in handling confidential information.Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.Ability to respond timely to changing demands.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn an array of computer hardware and software.Must have a valid California Drivers License.Education and Experience :
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.At least three years of experience in customer technical support highly preferred.
