• Develop injection molded plastic products based on customer requirements, prototype and test designs to demonstrate performance and regulatory compliance, and transfer designs and processes to manufacturing.
• Workig with customers conceptualize new products using material knowledge and innovative mechanical design.
• Detailed mechanical engineering design, prototype development, validation and manufacturability, cost estimation, design reviews, risk analysis, hazard analysis, FMEA-Design / Process / Use, tolerance analysis, material analysis, molding analysis, and design verification testing.
• Implement design for manufacturing, including mold flow for injection molded parts, tooling design and equipment development.
• Organize, plan, track and resolve design issues.
• Ensure that design specs for the system meet or exceed applicable environmental and regulatory standards.
• Oversee fabrication of prototype tooling for proof of concept and process development.
