We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Quality Assurance team based out of our Gaston, SC facility . The ideal candidate for the Quality Specialist role will be results driven and have excellent troubleshooting skills that are complemented by exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate will also be a self-directed individual who can succeed independently as well as in small teams. Responsibilities The Quality Specialist will be reportable to the Quality Assurance Manager and have responsibilities for the following tasks :
- Focus on behavior-based safety and hazardous chemical safety
- Disposition products and ensure control of non-conforming product supporting both Monomers and Resins businesses
- Assist with external audits (such as ISO and Food Safety) and customer visits
- Participate in internal area quality audits to drive quality expectations and requirements
- Interface with and train operators regarding quality, Food Safety, Good Documentation Practices, and Good Manufacturing Practices
- Manage the raw materials quality acceptance process, working with Material Movement, Operations, Procurement, and Cost Accounting
- Ensure raw material suppliers are qualified and properly documented
- Inventory and purchase supplies through SAP
- Assist operations areas with product control during upsets and process tests
- Pull quality data for review to drive continuous improvement
- Interface with R&D and Technical as required
- Interface with Tech Marketing in support of customer issues
- Update and maintain quality information in the Alpek Quality Management System
- Lead and participate in quality root cause investigations to determine corrective and preventive actions for internal non-conformances and customer complaints
- Drive Quality best practices and procedural implementation across operational areas
- Verify operations field conditions conform to quality requirements
- Support management of electronic databases for process and laboratory limits and results
